My solo desert adventure started in Sydney and took me on a 4 week return trip covering 8000 klm through central Australia.

I enjoyed very much the spirit of freedom and adventure that this trip provided me. I will always remember, amongst many things, the interesting people I met along the way and how this isolated region shaped there lives. Through my photography, it allowed me to stay present and in the moment. I saw the most amazing sunrise and sunsets, not to mention the most incredible starry nights. The wide open spaces were what captured my imagination and will eventually bring me back to this beautiful landscape once again.

On many of my drives through the Desert, I was able to see during the day many of the distinct fauna of the Central Australian desert regions such as the Emu, Kangaroo, Dingo, Camel, Wallaby and an incredible array of birds. Unfortunately being Winter time, the snakes and Reptiles were no where to be seen.

What you don't get to see during the day is the many nocturnal animals  which are active during the night apart from their foot prints that they leave in the sand.. Each morning in the sandy regions I camped at I cleared the sand of any marks around the campsite, creating a clean canvas, and when I woke up I investigated what had been travelling nearby during that evening.

Here is  a photo of the unusual rock formations known as Chambers Pillar, which is located south West of Alice Springs in the Northern Territory. I bush Camped here for 3 nights / 4 days.
