On many of my drives through the Desert, I was able to see during the day many of the distinct fauna of the Central Australian desert regions such as the Emu, Kangaroo, Dingo, Camel, Wallaby and an incredible array of birds. Unfortunately being Winter time, the snakes and Reptiles were no where to be seen.
What you don't get to see during the day is the many nocturnal animals which are active during the night apart from their foot prints that they leave in the sand.. Each morning in the sandy regions I camped at I cleared the sand of any marks around the campsite, creating a clean canvas,and when I woke up I investigated what had been travelling nearby during that evening.
